Dj Yoda at XOYO + Ash Catch'em / Kings Of The City / Chima Anya

Supa Dupa Fly Present…
Dj Yoda
Saturday 17th March @ XOYO

Tickets £8 here

DJ Yoda is no ordinary scratch DJ. His seminal How To Cut & Paste series showcased a tongue-in-cheek mixing style that prompted Q Magazine to declare him “one of the ten DJs to see before you die”, whilst Hip Hop Connection voted him “one of the top three DJs in the world”. From hip-hop beginnings, DJ Yoda has evolved, using his turntable skills and diverse influences as varied as Funk, B-more, Reggae, Drum ‘n’ Bass and even Big Band Swing and Country & Western to make unashamed party music. He can be found cutting the Indiana Jones theme with woofer-worrying Dubstep or The Muppet Theme with MIA. His career highlights include producing an hour-long music documentary for BBC Radio 1’s 40th birthday, mixing-up highlights of their history as part of their official anniversary celebrations. Support Acts

Kings Of The City are of the most exciting and innovative new acts to come from the UK in a long time. They have performed to over 20,000 people in Trafalgar Square, embarked on a 12 date O2 Academy UK tour supporting MAVERICK SABRE, released 3 hit refixes of contemporary records with for SBTV.co.uk and become the first band to record an acoustic Fire In The Booth for CHARLIE SLOTH’s show on BBC 1Xtra who describes them as ‘A fresh new sound for British rap. Pure dopness!’ www.kingsofthecity.co.uk

Chima Anya has shared stages with legends such as Amp fiddler, KRS 1, Flava Flav, Jay & Electronica so it’s no surprise that when asked Chima states his greatest joy comes from the live show. Always engaging, energetic and charismatic, a group that can only be described as a “must see“. www.chimaanya.com

The Ash Catch’Em sound is influenced by everything from classic east coast hip hop, to dirty south & a Jazz element, while maintaining his grimey UK attitude. Ash has recently supported Mac Miller and Big Sean on their UK tours. www.ashcatchem.com
